printing up a literary journal/zine - advice!?
hey... i was much impressed by the article on the gocco! thanks for that dilettantecrafter.
i'm wondering... do any of you know about affordable ways to print on a larger size of paper, numerous copies of mostly text? my friend is self-publishing a literary journal, which she has done before by just photocopying. i'm thinking of offering some extra help, i think it would be fun to work on the production side of things. i personally would like some color (if not too expensive) and something a bit fancier than photocopies. the larger gocco is too expensive for me ($700+ - yikes!) any ideas would be much appreciated to help get the creativity flowing. innovative/wild ideas welcome. thanks!

Have you seen LuLu? http://www.lulu.com/about/whatislulu.php
I have been assured it is not a scam, but a very reasonable way to self-publish, in that you don't pay some wild fee upfront and have to buy a certain number of copies. One does, however, have to totally format the entire thing oneself-- which might actually be fun. Their format sizes look pretty neat to me too.
As a caveat, I haven't worked with them or had them print anything for me (nor have I ordered a book from them). I just came across it and thought it looked neat!
and of course there is always kinkos, though i'm guessing they are more than a bit spendy.
