    Quilt Binding??? I need help!

Does anyone have any suggestions on Quilt Binding... it is what I fret about most (wrt: quilting anyway).

I'm there too--the one time I fixed an old quilt with store-bought binding it turned out so bad!!

I have the 1" version of this tool

    http://www.joann.com/catalog.jhtml?C...1&PRODID=11900

and I am going to try it for the quilt I'm working on now--which will be my first one I ever made and finished all by myself. I have no idea how easy they are but I like the idea of being able to bind with a fabric of your choosing.

I'm waiting for a couple of quilting books to come up on hold at the library, because I don't own any. Do you have any that have binding info in them? Maybe if the ones I check out are any good I'll PM you with the titles.

I can make the binding, that requires a sharp eye and a small iron... it is the actual act of sewing it that I have such a problem with.

A great book is: Denyse Schmidt Quilts: 30 Colorful Quilt and Patchwork Projects

It has a big long section on binding... the principal I get, it is the actual doing that I am having trouble with...

I am pretty skillful at quilt binding. Now if I could do computer graphics, I could send you all directions. Let us meditate on this.

I know! I'll volunteer to draw and write the directions, photocopy 'em, and mail 'em to any of you who PM me your snail mail address. This is just one of many simple methods, but it works quite well and always winds up looking quite neat and finished.

Schmatta, you could also just draw them, and then scan them (at work, or go to a Kinko's or similar) and then since they are now "pictures", use any free photo service, like Yahoo Photos. Then just post a link here.
