string some beads on some wire and start knitting (or crocheting). Just slide up a bead into each stitch. Wacky stuff happens. I was surprised at how much of it was at SOFA this year. i guess it's getting really popular. The only one I really like so far is http://www.arteamorefantasia.com/ita..._indossare.htm

String the beads on the wire first, then slide them up as you make the stitch.

Also, wooden and bamboo needles work wire better than metal or plastic ones.

I tried this, and the only advice I can give (besides using wooden needles) is to use the thinnest most flexible wire you can find. And, just go at it! It's trial and error, really.

i'm actually curious to see this - i crochet with wire and always use a metal hook, because the other stuff just doesn't hold up. is knitting that different, that wood would be better? or maybe i'm using a thicker wire?

anyway, there's a book just out about knitting with wire that could give you some ideas.
