    Translation Problem

How would you call the canvas or plastic casings schoolkids use to carry their pens and pencils in English? A pen and pencil case?
Thought they might make neat little projects.

I call mine a pencil case, even though I carry pens, pencils, mini staplers, flash drives, etc. in it. But I also wouldn't think it was weird if someone referred to it as a pen case. On Etsy.com "pencil case" turns up more entries than "pen case" (seven pages versus four).

Thanks! And searching on Etsy is a handy tip I'll use next time I'm having difficulty finding a proper description.

My husband got me a great case on Etsy for Christmas - it's oilcloth and I love it!
