    magnet supplies?

i have a ton of old pins/buttons of bands and other things that i don't really use. i want to make them into magnets - any leads on where i can buy strong magnets (just plain circles i guess) that i can glue to the backs? i don't want those flimsy die-cut types. short of breaking/smashing my existing magnets i'm not sure where to go. thanks!

Jo-Ann sells packages of strong magnets in the section where bells and felt and stuff are.

For mail order try Oriental Trading Company. Lots of other cool craft stuff too.

I'm keeping an eye on this b/c I've been trying to purchase bulk magnets on eBay, but have been pretty disappointed. :/

Tecre sells magnets to use with its buttons - http://www.tecre.com

They aren't quite as strong as I would like -- one magnet for the 1-inch buttons will hold 2 full-size pieces of paper on my fridge before it starts sliding down. But they are the perfect size, so that's a plus.

I know some people hate the store, but Walmart has the magnets. It's $4.97 for a pretty big package. I recall there being enough magnets to accomodate a mesh bag of flat marbles.
