clear half-dome acrylic/plastic for bubble magnets?

I saw the cutest magnet which was a picture of a baby with a clear plastic dome over it, kind of like a snowglobe effect.

I have magnets; where could I find the clear dome part? I tried using those glass beads you get in the floral department, but it wasn''t as nice.

Is there a name for that clear plastic part? It''s like a solid ball, but cut in half....

I've been looking for the same thing, except to use to make earrings. (At least, it sounds like we're looking for the same thing.) I've been told that you can buy liquid resin, or something...but it's all a little unclear to me.

    Is this what you mean?

    I think you mean cabochons.

You can buy plastic cabochons at Tap Plastics here:

Note, they say the bottom isn't flat.

(sorry, I don't know why everything is underlined, I tried to fix it but couldn't)

    Yes!!!! Thank you!
I wonder if the marbles would be too bulky for earrings...(it would be easier to just go pick those up instead of ordering plastic cabochons.)

The marbles would be pretty heavy, wouldn't they? And the glass ones I have aren't perfectly round and have bubbles in some.

I wonder what they mean by the bottom isn't flat on the cabochons?

Thanks so much for the info, coleus! Cabochon...I kept looking for half domes and so on and getting all kinds of scientific results, lolol.

You can use resin to do this, but it is quite expensive to start up. I haven''t done it myself, but I have a friend who does and they look lovely.
