How to Protect Photos in my Wedding Scrapbook?

I am finally putting together my wedding album (our one year anniversary was last week!), and I'm having an issue with how to protect the photos in it.

I am doing it in a scrapbooky-collagey sort of style (think wedding album meets Dan Eldon), and after a lot of hemming and hawing, sprung for plastic page protectors, a-la office presentations. They look awful - they're very bulky and they kind of just hang loosely open at the top. Since I'm still close to the beginning of this project, I'm trying to figure out the best solution. I want my photos to be covered with SOMETHING, and if the rest of the page is, too, fine. If not, fine.

Would anyone recommend lamination for this kind of thing? Has anyone tried it? Would it make more sense to laminate entire pages, or just photos? Would it fall apart in 50 years?

Thanks in advance for any help/ideas!

    - Jenny

    Protecting photos

I might not fully understand your problem, but If I'm on the right track... why not try a scrapbook? they have beautiful scrapbook with wedding themes, then you design your scrapbook page and place the entire page in the plastic sleeve. I've been scrapbooking aka cropping for years and mine have not fallen apart yet.
