no, but i did a similar program when i was younger at the local art college...then i ended up studying illustration at pratt and am now (trying to be at least) a working illustrator.
so, i am all for it! i think its great that their teachers think they have talent. art is just as important a skill as any other sort of study (like science or english). and the world needs us...art really is everywhere, in every single industry.
i bet they will have a blast and you will continue to be one proud momma from the masterpieces they'll create! how old are they? are the classes specific or just "art" (like, i took printmaking, figure drawing, ceramics, etc...).

Hi - can I join in?!
I'm not sure if I'm putting this in the right place, but here goes...
I'm Fenn (in case you hadn't guessed!) and I'm from Shrewsbury, England. I came across the site whilst googling for craft supplies.
I'm 35 and live with my partner, our two gorgeous boys, a (currently mangey) dog, The Oldest Cat In The World, and three bantam hens. We also have an allotment, where we supposedly grow lots of healthy veg, but mainly grow weeds (and bury dead bantams...).
Under threat of having to go out and -gulp- work, I've finally decided to put my art college past to good use and am attempting to teach myself bag-making. So if anyone can offer hints/tips to a complete novice, I'd be most grateful!
I spent most of my youth drinking too much, not sleeping enough, and spending the housekeeping on clothes. Now I have neither the money nor the energy to drink or shop to excess, but I'm still sleep-deprived. And I still like nice things (although you wouldn't know it if you could see the current state of my house).

I guess I am lucky, or maybe it is a side effect of having gone to art college, but my best freind is as crafty if not craftier than me! We sell our crafty goodness together at sales, and we often go over to one another's house to sit and be crafty together.
As for my other friends...well mostly they are 'artists' not crafters. I have met some super nice girls on these boards, though, and go to a bi-weekly meeting with them to sit and bask in the crafty glow. It is very nice to be around other women who aren't grandma aged that like knitting, sewing, etc.

I heard someone on the news say "The police drugged the body away."
I never really see "pasted away" but I do see "past away." "Past" is a noun; "passed" is a past tense verb. Speaking of dead people, what is up with calling them "late"? They aren't late because they're never going to get there because they're DEAD. I kind of think we could go with the Monty Python use of "past." As in "past person."
This isn't as much a word that I hate as much as a misspelling that bugs me. If you're in college, you should know how to spell it. I do collage in college, but it's only because I go to art college that I can paste paper to other paper for schoolwork.
Misprounciations bug me out the most. It's inSURance not INsurance. It's inSURance because you are making SURE you are Ok in case of an accident.
