Post Subject: Printmaking for kids? (x-posted at SN)
(any teachers or other people in educational professions here?)
If you wanted to introduce printmaking to children or teenagers, what printing technique would you choose? Preferably something quite cheap and not so messy...ideas for any age group is fine really, from pre-school to high school.
I'm brainstorming a list of activity ideas for the museum I'm doing an internship for...so I don't know if any of the ideas I come up with will actually be used, but I want to have a list of things that I know are doable. I've done some printmaking before, but it was lithography and copper plate intaglio (oh, and potato prints in primary school but that doesn't count) so it's not really useful if I want to plan a one-hour printmaking workshop with cheap/readily available materials. :-) The objective of the workshop would be for the students to find out how postage stamps are made (just the basic process of course).
Any links to websites dealing with art for kids, or any teacher/educator resources would be most appreciated too.
