candles in baby food jars and matching decorated matchboxes
decorated altoid tins filled with a beaded bracelet "kit" -- put all the pieces together in the tin and let them make their own
little cinnamon ornaments (like the cinnamon magnets at http://www.homeofthesampler.com)
diy-ed sachets or eye pillow thingies
cello bags filled with candy
little felt stuffed animals
pins and 1" buttons
granted, I'm cribbing from stuff I'm doing this year for my sibs, who are all young-ish girls, so I'm not sure how much that helps.

To get in the xmas spirit, I must:
- plan a fabulous gift for mr. lemming that I can be geekily excited about until the very MOMENT he opens it (doesn't have to be big, just has to be perfect).
- pull out the box full of Christmas books (my mom's bought me and my sisters each a Christmas-oriented book every year since I was six, and I'm doing the same for Rabbit).
- put up ornaments/decorate the tree. this is the first year since I moved out of my parents' house that we've been able to put up a tree, so until now I've just been hanging ornaments on nails on the wall. which looked good, actually, it's just that all the holes in the wall were a pain in the ass to patch up. this year, we've only got our ornaments from last year to put on the tree (the rest are in storage), so I put some bright bows in the branches and will probly hang some cinnamon ornaments (after I make them) and some paper snowflakes and a felt garland (ditto).
- plan an elaborate gift list (that usually gets cut in half by xmas).
- go to the xmas cantata at my mom's church. it's like visiting an ex-boyfriend (I used to go to her church/be in the choir).
- watch It's A Wonderful Life (although it's a mixed feeling because I associate it with my grandpa who died on xmas eve).
I don't have any Christmas music I have to listen to because I always end up forgetting to hunt down my xmas cds and tapes.

finished three batches of sugared pecans (need two more), three batches of peppermint bark (and already gifted!), my mom's handprint ornament, a batch of cinnamon ornaments (although they look a little deformed because they stuck to the pan in the oven). Yeah, now all I have . . . is the big stuff, damn it.
goodness! my muse ran away and i have projects on top of each other waiting to be finished. i am a procrastinator of the nth degree ... anyone else in the same boat?
