I'm sorry, craftmania, but I have no idea what you're talking about when you say "plain glass magnet." The closest thing that comes to mind are marble magnets, which are a simple and fun little projects that look good on your 'fridge. For those you use clear glass marbles with the flattened bottoms that you can usually find in floral section of the craft store and heavy-duty round magnets from the office supply store (They usually come in packs of six. Office Max has particularly good ones.) Anyway, glue a funky little picture onto your magnet, trim the edge with an x-acto, and glue the marble on top with a craft glue like Amazing Goop, which covers pretty evenly without making bubbles and won't yellow over time. If you want to get fancy, you can package a set of six into a decorated Altoid tin to give as a gift. I hope that helps.

Post Subject: How to apply vintage (unpasted, not vinyl) wallpaper?
I have some lovely c. 1940s wallpaper, the kind that was not prepasted and is made from real paper (not vinyl). I also have a 1940s armoire that is a little flimsy--it was made mostly from paneling, not solid wood--and it also has some superficial water damage, so I have no qualms about painting it. I plan to paint it antique white and was thinking of pasting some of my vintage wallpaper on the inside. The texture of the inside is like the back of wood panelling--kind of rough. I'm not sure what kind of adhesive to use for the wallpaper--extra strength craft glue? Rubber cement? actual wallpaper paste? (the latter would be, I assume, most expensive, because these days it's a speciality item) I seem to remember seeing numerous articles in magazines like Martha Stewart Living etc. describing how to apply vintage wallpaper to boxes, furniture, etc. but I can't remember where/when I read them! Help!

A friend of mine made these cute glittery pumpkins last year.

it's pretty simple...just spread craft glue on the stem and in between the grooves and sprinkle with different colored glitter. A little messy, but fun.

Oooh, I loved the barettes we used to make as kids. I think we did some kind of weaving with the ribbon and then used just a tiny bit of regular old white glue or craft glue to adhere it to the barette.
Take some pictures when you have them done and post them up here!

I love the rolled-beads idea - I was thinking of doing that with paper anyway. I don't know what kind of glue, if any, will stick to the metallic mylar of the bags, though. I'm pretty sure Mod Podge, Elmer's or anything water-based won't work. I have some craft glue that I've used to make marble magnets; I wonder if that will do the trick.

so far i have decorated glass candle votive holders with conversation hearts (i just glued them on with craft glue-i got this idea from a post on craftster).
i would also like to make a heart shaped candle embedded with conversation hearts. i have candle wax, wicks and heart shaped molds but i didn't know if i had to treat the conversation hearts with any coating or if i could just lay them in the wax when it is still soft...i have seen candles like this in stores but never did it myself. anyone try this before?
thanks,
Danielle
