Metal Paint: you can get it at Michaels', Hobby Lobby, etc.
It is usually with the acrylic craft paint, and usually on the bottom of the shelves. It is about $2 for a 2 oz container.

these are so great! were the feathers pre-polkadotted, or did you paint them?
i am also curious what kind of paint you used to paint pictures on your feathers. i have a ton of chicken feathers, and have been using them plain (to frame pictures, sewed onto stuff) but now i'm totally inspired to try coloring them!!
These were already polkadot.
To paint I was using cheep (Ha!Punn) craft paint 'Apple Barrel' and some other off brand.
If there are any white or blond parts on your chicken feathers you should be able to dye them as well as paint them.

I made one just last night(while watching an ispiring episode of Disturbed House Wives).
I'm not sure mine are the same but I bought a package of feathers at Michaels(the crafted for masks stuf).
The feathers are not color fast so you'll have to deal with that if you wish. But I used craft paint to paint a bird over the feather and it looks great.
I glued a bead over the quil and then wraped it a bit with wire making a loop to hook it onto an earring wire.I quite like it.Now I need to make a matching one.
