Post Subject: Mary Jane's Farm Magazine
Anybody else read this? It only comes out twice a year, but it's jam packed with articles. It's a "storefront magazine"-- Mary Jane sells her organic dry goods in a section in the back, and the trade off is there is no outside adverstising. There are articles on organic food, recipes, gardening, homekeeping, beauty, current events, etc. All from a "farm girl" perspective, although it's not so over the top that a city girl can't identify with it. It's one of my favorites; I just wish it came out more often.

Here's a website that I found. http://www.nocans.com/index.html One of the recipes called for garlic though, I'm not sure but I thought I had heard somewhere that garlic is not safe for pets. I'm not affiliated with this website at all, nor am I a veterinarian, so I do suggest contacting your vet before trying these home made pet food recipes.

Post Subject: Soy Luck Club drink recipes?
I saw a bit on Martha Stewart with the woman that started the Soy Luck Club and was very interested in her drink recipes...sad to say, the site has the easy food recipes available but not the drink recipes.
They were simple enough, but the proper wet/dry ingredients were never really given when they were being made. I didn't bother with trying to figure it out figuring that it would be up on the site soon. As luck would have it, they aren't.
I can't recall what they were called, but one was a hot drink that included powdered green tea and soy, other was a cold drink that was soy and honey. Both sounded divine, i was hoping maybe someone else had seen the bit and may have gotten at least the ingredients down-the rest could easily be figured out, i'm sure.

"I don't feel offended by the word "retard." It's just a word, people can take it any way they want. "
whoa. do i even have to mention some words (racial slurs, demeaning words, etc) that are "just words" but are still obscenely offensive and hurtful? i realize that Guinness just made a mistake and i appreciate the correction, but can you imagine if someone posted something like "darkie food recipes"? yeah, it's just a word, but words CAN and DO hurt people.
I was actually addressing Guinness there. Anyway no one but a retarded idiot would post anything like "darkie food recipes." I don't run from the word police. I can't cut out half the english language because it might bother someone.

anywas, back to the topic...
my favorite easy food is grilled cheese sandwiches. the secret is to lightly butter one side of a piece of bread, put it butter-side-down in a nonstick pan heated to a medium (not too hot) setting. then layer some sliced cheese on, and top with another slice of bread buttered on the "outside" side. grill until brown on both sides. the secret is to have the heat low enough that the cheese melts before the bread burns. i thought everyone knew how to make grilled cheeses, but i had to teach my boyfriend.
i also like to make quesadillas. i just heat a tortilla folded in half with grated cheese between the layers. for a big quesadilla, you can put cheese between two tortillas and cook them flat. they are really good with some salsa and sliced avocados. for more of a soft taco type deal, you can spread beans on one side, sprinkle with cheese, and then put lettuce and tomatoes in after the cheese melts and the beans are hot. yum.
