Post Subject: Recycled Plastic Hobo Bag w~ Free Pattern
Hello everyone:
I'm back to share a craft after a long absence but am feeling well now. I finally got my recycled plastic hobo handbag done along with the free crochet pattern written up. Check it out.
This crochet pattern is a variation of Dao's Nordstrom Hobo Bag but is done in plastic bag yarn or plarn. The stitches are a bit different but the look is very similar. It's also lined and has a magnetic clasp for a closure. The free pattern link is found here. http://www.myrecycledbags.com/2008/05/16/recycled-plastic-hobo-handbag/

I haven’t shared a free crochet pattern here for awhile so here is my latest. It’s a grocery bag. I crocheted it from 56 recycled brown grocery bags. So rather than having to chose between paper or plastic, chose to use your own recycled market bag. Here is the free link http://www.myrecycledbags.com/2007/05/18/recycled-plastic-grocery-tote-bag/

Just wanted to update anyone who is new to felting. I finally have my first felted purse done. I ended up having to felt it twice. I used 100% wool as recommended but after the first felting of 10 minutes on the hottest water my machine has, it just wasn't enough. So I re-did it for about another 6 minutes. I think the key is not to worry about felting your project too much. When I first started doing the felting, I was so worried it would felt too much and kept checking it in the machine. At least for me and this project, I don't think it really matters. Felt away and don't worry about leaving it too long in the machine. Anyway here's a picture.
