You can use them to make dolls, which could be donated to Project Night Night and other charities. For info on Project Night Night, see the info on the announcements forum. For a good doll pattern, please see the Holiday Crafts magazine just put out by Martha Stewart. Much as as I dislike many of the ideas that arise from the MS mentality, this issue had some great ideas for gifts, especially for charitiy donations.
Another idea- cut them into strips and crochet them into scarves.
