Have people dress up like candy bars, or like things that would be chocolate covered. Or everyone wear something brown.
Chocolate scented candles might be overkill...
Definitely a fondue with chocolate and maybe a mole for main dish, the kind with bitter chocolate in it.
What is that chocolate soda from the midwest? Kinda good as I recall...
My former mother in law worked for Perugina indirectly. She would always have a Revere ware silver bowl filled with foil wrapped chocolates. Very pretty in a shiny bowl. And people love reading the sentiments in Perugina Baci.
Make a pinata with silvery paper to look like a giant Hershey kiss. Fill with wrapped chocolate candies.

We regifted a box of really nice scented candles (I am sensitive to smells) to friends who had us over for Xmas tamales, and my son Paul regifted two barely used books for his brother and sister in his other family, and a "yard of chocolate" given to me by a student to his dad and step-mom. Happy to send the stuff down the river to people who could appreciate them, and they were good quality, too.

I think it took about 6 weeks for my samples to arrive. Considering I got more than twice as many as I expected, I'm not disappointed at all. I also appreciate that they sent them through the mail rather than UPS, so I didn't have to go through the hassle of missing the delivery and figuring out a time to be home to sign for the package.
The vials are your standard perfume-sample size - about 1/4" wide and 1½" tall. As Black Phoenix's site explains, the scents are very concentrated, so a little will go a long way. I'm sure one vial would be enough to make a batch of scented candles or add fragrance to a bottle of unscented body oil.
I was kind of worried that they'd all just have a similar witchy choke-a-horse incense kind of smell, but there really is a good variety. I particularly like "Embalming Fluid" (it's very bright and kind of lemony) and "Gluttony" (very very sweet, vanilla-y and hunger-inducing) - and I think those are two that I didn't even order. Now I'm trying to think of uses for all of these neat little samples. I probably will end up ordering more eventually.

I need:
-Cinnamon scented candles
-to decorate the tree
-to watch "It's a Wonderful Life"(*note to self, watch it!!)
-to drive around at night and look at the lights!
Once I do all of that I can hear bells wherever I go.

i frequently re-gift things that i don't like, or more often, can't use. i remember one year my cousin gave my mom, sister, and i lotion and shower gel from Victoria's Secret. it is, of course, the thought that counts, but nobody in my family can use highly fragranced body stuff because we all have sensitive skin and allergies.
My mom and I also regift scented gifts (or stinky stuff as my mom calls it) because of allergies. I don't really feel all that terrible because often the giver is someone who knows I have allergies and can't stomach scented hair spray let alone scented candles and lotions.
I make a note of who gave the gift and when and give it to someone who likes that stuff and would use it. I figure it is that or goodwill.

I'm Jacqui, I'm a 23-year-old newlywed in Grand Rapids, MI (yes, there is a world here outside of Detroit). I work for a web-proofer/production assistant for a web development firm. I knit, make glycerin soaps that never really smell like anything but glycerin despite the amount of fragrance oil I put in them, stamp/scrapbook, and attempt a fair amount of jewelry design.
What floats my boat: living 1/2 hour from all the beaches I could want. Passionate conversations with my husband. ice cream, cheesecake, and pasta. History. Bath products and scented candles. Music and dancing of any kind. Fun chicklit books that make me giggle.
What sinks my boat: blind political affilations, overly religious people, smoking, bad drivers, poor spellers
What makes me crafty: anything that sparkles, shines, or has a pretty color. The feeling of yarn in my fingertips. The joy of twisting a pair of tweezers. The fact that I can visualize a finished product but yet know that the result will never look anything like it!
