~ Find something fun to do with my sons
~ Wander aimlessly thru the fabric (or craft) store
~ Lose myself in a project: sewing, crafts, home improvement. Whatever sounds good at the time
~Read, do word puzzles
~Organize something
Now if only these things actually worked to lower my blood pressure. I stress out very easily. :(

Post Subject: ANY other book organization free? (list makers...)
I just tried
http://www.bibliophil.org/
which I really am liking.
You can add tags (like :sewing, crafts, diy, gardening, TO BUY
whatever you want. and search them.
If I could print this out and take the whole list or put this in a file, would be nice. I guess you could tag them WHERE they are in your house.
(bookshelf 1, bottom shelf...etc)
It's a free site.
I saw a lot of others posted, but are any else free?
I like the readerware idea, but I don't have a palm pilot (yet)
but I don't like the idea of paying like 50$ for something I might not like...

Halloween is the best time to explore things you would NEVER BE. EVER.
This is why it's my favorite holiday. It's a chance to be cooler and more attractive than you are in real life. I love the idea of a night of not being yourself but something else (not even human sometimes) entirely.
I tried to resist making a costume this year, I have tons of gorgeous ones I have made in the past, don't need another one, can never find anyone to hang out with me and end up having a sucky time on Halloween...but then I realized that I love the creative process of doing a huge elaborate themed sewing/crafts/jewelry project every year. I love the design challenge, and the fantasy element is icing on the cake.
So I went through my fabric stash. I have been buying random holiday stuff every year at the after-Christmas sales with the idea of someday making them into a costume, and realized I have *ridiculous* amounts of random stuff (four yards of silver metallic snowflake fabric?!) and decided that this is the year. I'm going to be a winter fairy or an Ice Princess or a Snow Maiden, can't quite decide. At first it was definitely fairy, but then I got halfway into making my adorable white faux fur cape and realized that a cape and wings probably won't mix too well. But the skirt is very fairy-like, so I might look silly without wings (I love that I was just able to write a sentence in which I ponder whether I will look silly without wings). Plus one of the cool random things I have accumulated is a 9 inch long irridescent icicle to use as a wand, and I don't know if an ice princess or snow maiden would carry a wand/sceptre.
Elements:
-Circle skirt of silver metallic snowflake fabric, with pleated tufts (I don't actually know the sewing term for this, basically I started at the hem and then created pleats to about 10 inches from the waistband), it's about halfway down to my knees with the tufts. Trimmed with icicle garland, may add some beaded garland
-Underskirt of six layers of tulle
-white faux fur cape
-Tank top with square neckline trimmed with faux fur made of rubberized white fabric with a silver sheen, trimmed with icicle garland to make "sleevelets"
-necklace made of a snowflake pin bought on clearance
-headband with beaded garland wired to it
-arm warmers, can't decide if I should make them out of skirt fabric or top fabric
-white boots that I will make faux fur toppers for
-icicle wand/sceptre
-matching purse (again, can't decide which fabric)
-wings??? Any ideas what to do about this? I need to go to the halloween store.
-Also thinking of making eye decorations based on the ones I made for my Poison Ivy costume (if you recall the character), I loved my Poison Ivy ones and have been wanting a chance to do them again. Would have to find spirit gum, though, which I've found surprisingly hard in DC.
I am happy that I decided to give in, it gives me such pleasure to plan and figure and sew and create.
