Its becoming a lost art really.I've found some good books at the library actualy(for points of referance and assemblage).Timetex is the new preffered stiffener for brims and such but we used to use horse hair interfacing...however thats been hard to find for awhile now...
I would love to see rinestone shapes on them...like a cowgirl hat with a cowgirl on it.
I also love madalions of the resin/bottle cap type on the crown of the hat.
There are some commercial patterns by Butterick and Simplicity,and Vogue that are good starting points(although the sewing instructions suck).
