Post Subject: HELP!!!!!!!!!! RECYCLED SILK YARN PROBLEM
Hi everyone,
I am very disappointed because I bought a bunch of recycled silk yarn at E-bay and now that I am trying to make a scarf with it after I am half the way through the process I found myself that I do not have any more yarn with the same shade o same tone as the ones I have used.
I just added the closest color I found in my lot, but the quality looks to rough. It looks like a rag.
Any suggestions?
I am frustrated because it was for a gift and I think I shouldn't continue with it.
What do you suggest to do with it?
Thanks for your help

Post Subject: Knitting idea?
Hi, all -
I just got back from an awesome trip to Seattle, and while I was there, i picked up a beautiful skein of raw silk yarn. I was very excited, but now I'm kind of at a loss of what to do with it. I'm really bored with scarves, but there's not a huge amount of yarn to work with - as best I can tell, there's about 100 yards. Does anyone have ideas for a cool, smaller project? Crochet would be OK, too.

Post Subject: happy weekend
My Lush order just arrived: shampoo, conditioner, Fair Trade Foot Lotion (Pepto pink & spearminty) & Ooh La La soap (deep purple & lavender).
I bought some pinkish recycled silk yarn to knit a tampon cozy this weekend. And I'm loving the bright recycled silk cellphone cozy I made Monday. (My new phone has a camera, an FM radio & a flashlight!)
Both work & home are well stocked with Caffeine-Free Diet Coke.
I'm looking at a new apartment tomorrow morning. It has a tub (I've only got a shower), air conditioning, and a dishwasher. Still no washing machine, but I'm used to lugging my laundry across town.
I'm going to an agricultural fair this weekend, and there's now a farmers' market in my neighborhood every Saturday.
ETA How could I forget to mention that IKEA New Haven opens on Wednesday?!

I didn't measure it, but I used one skein of recycled silk yarn, i wound it into a ball and kind of eyeballed it as I went to make sure I had enough for tassells, I suppose you could also cut the tassels first and then make the scarf as long as you can.
I didn't actually put the yarn on my wrists, just left it on my four fingers. It didn't bother my wrists, and I have mild carpal tunnel problems when i use the computer for too long.
I found it fun and a bit of a break from my knitting on size 3's :)

I'm redhairedwonder, which is a nickname that a former manager bestowed upon me. I'm bloominglotus on LJ and glitter, and in real life I answer to Rhonda. I'm 32 years old, a Libra, and a lifelong Kansas City area resident. I have red hair (duh) and hazel eyes that my husband says are my best feature.
I currently work out of my home as a research and development analyist for my father's management consulting firm.
I live in a suburb of Kansas City with my husband and my almost-12-year-old daughter. My son is due to arrive in September.
As far as my crafting, I mainly make jewelry and embroider, but I'll dabble in nearly anything. Knitting seems to evade me for some reason, but I did manage to knit myself a very pretty scarf using recycled Tibetan silk yarn.
