do the instructions that come with it come with 'cast on' instructions or are they just what it shows? it will definately come unraveled if you don't start it right...
this is essentially the same as spool knitting or french knitting...
you can find some decent instructions here (you just have one less 'nail'): http://www.sweaterscapes.com/spool.htm

Hi! No, nothing about Cast on - just what is shown on the page. I will go to the site and see what to do - if I can get one made I will post here - they are quite pretty in the brochure.
thanks sooooo much for answering :-)

caitlin here in the blogs does tons of stuff with what she calls, I think, "spool knitting" which sounds like what you're talking about.
she has made vests by sewing the tubes together, and a curtain of long tubes to cover a doorway. I used one as a necklace with a crocheted flower on it...
i also just recently saw the CUTEST animal ornaments made with icord/spool knitting for arms and legs, a fatter spool for the body, and little knit bits and pieces for the head, and embroidered faces. so cute, i wish i had taken a picture so you could see!

i just finished spool knitting a whole ball of ugly peach colored yarn. now im not sure what to do with it!
making "jordy bags" thanks to craftster.org, the lastest one was a mini mouse bag with a strap and white lining (even though i sewed it all together and then looked inside and the lining was inside out) it still looks good!
jordy bags and felt wallets for christmas next year, if i start now i might be finished by then!
