I have just been thinking about decorations- it is my first tree this year! I plan on making the glittery pine cones, and also quilled snowflakes. I don't know how popular quilling is any more, but it is long thin strips of paper, rolled and glued so that they stay in a coil, then pinched to make different shapes eg teardrops, ovals etc. I am goign to glue these together to make snowflake shapes then add sequins and a bit of glitter and hang from threads.
I am also going to try and recreate a beautiful ornament I saw years ago. A walnut shell that had been sprayed silver (they did the same in gold also) had a silver pipe cleaner twisted and glued to the top, then little white beads on wire twisted and added to the top, in the same sort of way you put a bow on a present. Then hung with silver thread. I have bought my first hot glue gun all ready for it!
I love all these crafty ideas for tree decorations...I think my list of crafts-to-make is going to grow!
