Post Subject: Black Jewellery findings
Hi All,
I've got some lovely turquoise beads I found in turkey and I've found some other beads to complement them but I'd really like to use black jewellery findings (eye pins, chains etc) instead of sterling or gold to put the necklace together. Ideally, I want the metal to be good quality as well. Can anyone tell me what I should be looking for? Is black plated my only option? Dosen't have to be fully black, even that dirty black silver look? Hehe...sorry don't know the name! I'm pretty sure my old bead store in Australia stocked what I needed but I now live in London and I can't see to find what I'm looking for! (Always the way). I've checked a few beads stores here with no results! Anyone have any ideas where I could get them in the UK or even online?

They sell at the craft store (at least Michaels does, don't know what craft store is near you) plain rubber flip flops is just about every color-- you could by black, blue or brown ones and then glue teeny little seashells on the strap. You could also buy some silk flowers, like maybe even just one for each shoe and get the ones that are like, more rubbery and that look pretty real like in a pretty orchid or something and just glue one of those on each strap. I mean, once you have somewhere to start, decorating them is the simple part. Sequins are really trendy right now, especially in gold and silver, so you could glue those onto the strap, or i guess even on the side of the sandal, like on the wedgey part if you wanted. Another idea would be to glue some small beads onto the strap- for example, taking turquoise beads and glueing them onto a brown sandal would look pretty- especially if the beads were shaped like little stones and maybe mix in some other beads that look nice with them. Hope I gave you at least some inspiration! Good luck!
