Well, this year Spud and I opted not to exchange gifts, but rather got a simple digital camera. Instead, we loaded up the Monkey Boys with Mucho Loot.
Monkey Boys, ages 7yo and 10yo gave Momma:
- a down throw to keep me toasty"Oh, thank you! This will keep me from getting cold and cranky." "Mom, you're not always cold." Gotta love him.
- a new kitchen clock with a vintage wine label. Monkey Boys and Spare Son(babysitter) whacked the other one off the wall during a game.
- Elder Monkey self- published a book of his poetry. Very cool!
My parents, God love them, gave me:
- a Pendleton suit...um, a tad too Late Middle Age Country Club Set for me.
- a Pendleton skirt and matching twin set. Same assessment.
Afraid I can't return or exchange them, as they have the tell-tale tags of a Clearance Center and the ominous admonition,"If they're too big we can get it altered." Oh, they also smell like moth balls. Cry.
