Post Subject: Wine, Wine and more Wine
I am a wine lover! Red wine, white wine you name it I love it.
I really am interest in trading off wine secrets and the names of new wines on the market that you or anyone has come across that are exceptional.
recently I had the pleasure of trying a new wine on the market called Alyssa It is made by the Dukes family vineyard in Oregon.
They had a wine tasting event in Phoenix and I went.
I highly recommend this wine. It is a really flavorful red wine with lots of body. The flavor rolls in your mouth and doesn''t leave anytime soon. It is smooth and has that wonderful hint of oak as an added aftertaste. I loved it so much that I bought an aniversary bottle for my wine collection. The bottle was absolutely beautiful engraved and very heavy.
Check this out I sent 6 bottles of this wine out as gifts and everyone I sent it to ended up ordering a 1/2 case or more. Three of the 6 people I sent it to raved that it was the first fine wine they had in a long time that didn''t bother their digestive track.
Anyway thats my new wine
I love to try all sorts of new stuff so if any of you have a wine that is new on the market I would love to hear about it. I personally prefer wine that is aged but I am up for anything once. So if your a wine lover lets trade wines!

Hmmm wine tasting. I need some wine!
Congrats on paying off your debt!!
Mine is just the reverse. DH and myself are not in debt, but we feel as if we can never afford the things we need like a car or a new bed because I have a bad back.

Post Subject: Northern California sites to see?
Due to a poorly timed orchestra rehearsal, and a boyfriend who can't miss it because he's never played timpani before, I'm stuck within 4-6 hours driving distance of the SF bay area for a two night vacation this week.
Have you done something cool in Northern California? We've done the play-tourist-in-SF thing already, which was nice, but we really only missed the Alcatraz tour and it's just too cold for that. And wine tasting we've done too, the boy isn't good at playing snobby.
Hot springs or national parks sound exciting (our original plan was to do Yosemite until we realized we couldn't skip rehearsal) but I bet there's something cool out there. Otherwise we're going to end up at the casino with the ads the boy likes I bet, and I'm not that excited about pretending I can win money somewhere that has the odds stacked against me...

Petaluma is so close, it probably won't seem like a vacation, but I really like to visit there. There is a cute downtown area with a good thrift store and a great cafe called The Deaf Dog Cafe. I was a little mortified the first time I went there because I thought the sign said Dead Dog. They have a very cool bathroom made out of that diamond plate stuff you usually see on trucks.
Healdsburg is really nice. There's a very cute town square with good restaurants and shops and of course -- wine tasting! If you go a little north of town on 101 and take the Lytton Springs Road exit, go west of the highway for a minute or two, there is the biggest Salvation Army ever, it's in four or five buildings.
I like to eat and shop and rest on my vacations, as you can see. Maybe you like something more active?
Up and over to the coast, Gualala (did I spell that right?) to Fort Bragg (Highway 1) is a nice drive with a lot of beach walking opportunities. In Fort Bragg there's a beach that is made up of lovely multi-colored beach glass. A mosaic artist's dream come true. It used to be the town dump apparently. Turn west at the Denny's to find it. Also, Fort Bragg has a beautiful botanical garden. And a great brewery/restaurant, North Coast Brewing Company. They make Blue Star, Red Seal, and Pranqster. Mmmm.
Or take that whole 4-6 hours and come up to Humboldt County. Wait. The weather is really yucky. Come see us in Spring or Fall.

For whites, I really like Reislings. I found a really yummy $10 bottle by going into Whole Foods and asking the wine guy for a recommendation.
One of my friends is a total wine guy and manages a restaurant/bar/wine store and my boyfriend and I went to a free wine tasting there a few weeks back. After we tried a few wines, he brought out this red wine made by a company called Three Thieves. It was packaged in a jug, like moonshine or something, but it was SOOO good. And I'm typically more fond of white wines than red. Apparently this same company makes a white wine that they package in a juice box. My friend said all of the wines they make are really good, but they do this sort of tongue-in-cheek packaging to try to make it less pretentious, as of course a lot of self proclaimed wine connoisseurs will only approve of expensive wines, even though price often has nothing to do with taste or quality.

A Mad Hatter/Alice in Wonderland tea party!
Parties I'm personally jonesing to have soon:
Slumber Party Massacre/Sorority House Massacre slumber party. I want to get a bunch of friends together for a coed slumber party, watch these awesome cheesy 80s slasher movies, have everyone dress up in nighties and the boys in football jerseys and boxers. And then at some point I want to have a separate friend arrive at the party as the "killer" and designated people will end up being "killed". It would be so awesome.
a dance-off dance party! no costumes really, although I would love to incorporate some type of dress up. But I'm obsessed with the tv show Dance 360, which is this so awful it's awesome hip hop Soul Train-esque dance show, and I want to have a party in the style of the show. (only not hiphop music. more of an electroclash/rock and roll dance-off dance party)
a wine tasting party where everyone brings a bottle of wine under $10. everyone gets to taste new wines and get smashed!
