Another Old Glitter, new namer here.
It's funny because it took me ages to post on the old glitter, and I just can't work up the guts to post here either. Maybe this first post will help? |

You put it exactly right! That's how I feel too.
I was on old glitter since about 2001. I think I initially found it thru article son or by Jean in Utne or Bust magazine. The old glitter saved me back then when I was desperately miserable at a job with internet access. And since then I have learned so much through get crafty!
Copygirl, go for it - I think you will find things are pretty supportive here and no need to fear posting your thoughts. |

I was on old glitter under a different username.
I sound like a broken record, but I really like it here, including the slower pace which is easier for me to keep up with _________________ blog: udandi & the craft of money |

| Old member (since 2001), old name. I found out these boards were coming back through the new Glitter board, though. I stuck around here because the vibe is more my style, and I like the slower pace, too. |

| I joined the old boards in 2002. I didn't log on very often, but one day I saw that supernaturale was splitting off. I post on the glitter boards now and saw a post that getcrafty was back, so I visit here too. Yay! |

I was a lurker on the old GLitter -- when I could get to it. It was always wicked slow for me for some reason, and I'm not one who's known for her unending patience. :) I also went to the site from time to time to check out the articles.
Get Crafty came back on my radar when I learned that a book was coming out. I signed up right away when I saw the new site. I love all the new features, and the laid back feel to the forums really appeals to me.
I'd also like to get together with other crafty girls at some point, and that'll probably happen through the events arranged (or at least mentioned) here. _________________ ---

| Through the old board. I was on the old glitter for around two years, but then stopped posting when things got busy with work and real life. I always loved getcrafty for the inspiration it gave me and so today I'm home from work, can happily say I have nothing to do, and felt like joining back in the community again. |

Old glitter, new name. I heard about it on supernaturale, hopped on over and never looked back. I LOVE it here! Great folks, even better ideas; none of the petty, snippy stuff that irked me so much about the "other" boards. Just discussion, ideas and a willingness to hear and voice opinions. Plus lots of fun/funny stuff too!
Thank you Jean for coming back! :) _________________ "don't let the world get in your way; make your mistakes; go on your way"

i just finally got the chance to take a look at jean's book and it made me decide to come reregister on getcrafty's boards (i was tinkrbell on the old glitter for a few years).
it reminded me about the old crafty gal (or was it crafty chick?) website oh-so-long ago. i was a wee one then (still am), and was having a lot of trouble with my parents (moved out of my mom's house and my dad's apartment before i was out of high school). i really relied on crafting and domesticity to be my own support system, and to ground me. the whole getcrafty community made me feel so much less alone, as it made me realize that there were people with good taste in music and new and exciting ideas and lives who also put as much value on potting a plant or sewing something as they did on going to a show or a party. i think knowing that seriously helped me stay (for the most part) on track, and sane.
my life is much less renegade now, but there's always room for an community of smart and creative folks. thanks jean, for brining it back.
