Does anyone else like it? I really do! I think it tastes so good and it has tons of protein. It was on sale today so I bought the chicken nuggets style. My favorite is the roast though... it is so delicious with vegetables!
If you haven't tried it, it's a vegetarian meat substitute thing, made with mycoprotein (which is from mushrooms/fungus) and egg white. It's sort of chickenlike and tastes lighter than soy. All you have to do is heat it up, it's already cooked.
I wonder if I'm the only one? _________________ ** http://www.susanstars.com/ ** |

| I've tried it and it's pretty good. The only thing that bother's me is the fact that Astra Zeneca is behind the company. That bugs me a great deal. |

| Astra Zeneca is a pharmceutical company. I don't think they have a bad reputation, it's just odd. |

| Quorn is my favorite fake meat! It is sooo delicious. It does weird me out slightly that it's made by AstraZeneca, but not enough to stop eating. The tenders are my favorite, add them to black beans and rice and you've got yourself a serious meal. |

yummy stuff that quorn.
I like to make the quorn roast for dinner and then spend the rest of the week making sandwiches out of the leftovers (quorn + vegannaise = yum!). The roast is also yummy with BBQ sauce.
The tenders are good too. I must try them with black beans & rice as nicegirl suggested. That sounds so good.
I like all varieties of quorn! _________________ Read! http://sheis.youngandwithit.com

Where do you ladies find your Quorn? Is it something you'd have to go to a specialty shop for, or can it be found in a regular grocery store? The stores around my town don't seem to have it...maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places. It sounds very yummy and versataile!

MizMosa, you can find it at stores like Whole Foods or Wild oats.
You can also check http://www.quorn.com/us/index.htm. |

Because I am a vegetarian I eat quorn regularly, but it's important not to have it too often. That slightly sour taste does get irritating if you have it with everything. _________________ Witch of many trades: gemstone jewelry, photography and tarotreadings ;-) |

I had it once on an airline flight in europe. I only tried it b/c of the hubub on the old glitter about it, how people were getting ill in the us but people in europe were fine with it. Quite honestly if they had told me it was chicken I don't think i'd have known the difference, it was really not bad for an airplane meal :)
my best airplane meal however was indian food, but i think they used real chicken.

I dig it. Especially the nuggets--they're easily the best mock chicken nuggets I've ever had.
sun bear, I do remember reading something a while back (I can't think of where now, though) where some folks in the US were trying to get it banned from being sold here because there were getting ill from it. I've never had an issue with it, though I probably only eat it a handful of times a month or so... |

Okay, reading all this talk about Quorn has now convinced me to stop by Whole Foods after work today and pick some up. Mmm...
When I first tried it, I wasn't all that impressed, but now I am kind of addicted to the stuff. Luckily, it's expensive and I am poor so my habit hasn't gotten out of hand!
I remember being really excited when it finally came to the States because my Microbial Technology professor (who's British) went on and on about how difficult it was to produce mycoprotein on a large scale. Yes, my geekiness even follows me to the grocery store. ;P _________________ D ;o) |

ooh I love quorn! well I love the nuggest and the chicken patties. I've also tried the chicken chunk type things that are not breaded and they are pretty gross. or maybe it was the recipe I made them with (I believe I got it from the quorn website, but it had mustard in it and some other stuff and though I love mustard it was just too much for me).
anyway, I haven't had any in a while... going to have to pick some up again soon! |

| I used to enjoy eating it in London, but haven't seen it here. I shop at Whole Foods all the time and I'm sure mine doesn't have it. Oh well. |
