wow, i was all set to post that i really hate it when people join craft boards for the sole purpose of promoting themselves, and then i checked out your site.
i love it! congratulations. the popsicle purse is fabulous, love the small felt pins, great layout+colors, great design. easy loading, easy navigating.
i still don't like it when people's first posts are self-promotion, but i'll look past it, just this once. ; )
again, congratulations on meeting what must have been a huge goal for you. hope it goes well! |

The tag line for this board says:
"show us your stuff! have an article coming out, a new web site, or a crafty business you want us to know about? post it here"
So it seems to me that it's completely appropriate for folks to post about their own web sites. |

craftinfool, jean's started a discussion of the issue on the other board. http://hiphomec.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=271
chime in there, i'd love to hear your opinion! mine is that the board is for community members to show off, not for random people who haven't contributed anything to advertise. |

| hey, it's true i posted a 100% self-promotional post but i did think that i did it in the right place... as far as my first post goes, i'm not a big message board lady and mostly just tap in to see what's going on.... just wanted to let people know that there was a new d.i.y. site up so i apologize if people think that i just dropped in from nowhere but i'm a highly involved crafter who is all about community.... anywho, thanks for the positive feedback.... |

If anyone is interested in the article you can read it at
http://onmilwaukee.com/market/articles/flyingfis h.html
also, I would like to point out that a great way to get local exposure is to contact your local paper on or off line and get the arts section to write about your crafty business.... Milwaukee isn't that progressive but the local paper's have been really supportive and usually you can find the cool reporter who is always looking for a new interesting story..... |
