OK. Last night my writer's group celebrated our 2-year anniversary. And celebrate we did. And I hadn''t been out sans baby in months, so was very out of pratice. And now I am truly hungover. What should I do? I'm drinking lots of water and have had two cups of coffee, but haven't eaten any thing. the thought of food makes my stomache turn.
Help!

my cure:
greasy food: (waffle house is ideal) bacon, eggs, hash browns
coffee: strong and at least two cups
cigs: if you smoke
a glass of water and two advil
and finally...a big poo!
a big poo always works for me! |

Ahhhh... becca_13... so funny! :o)
I concur with the big breakfast, you got to get something in you tummy to soak up all that badness... the big poo isn't a bad idea either - get the bad stuff out of your body.
My favorite thing is V-8. Remember those commercials were people were walking all crooked but when they drank their V-8 they felt good and walked standing tall. I totally feel that way after drinking it! Good stuff, liquid and vitamins. _________________ thinkpretty.com | journal | livejournal |

Ah, I had one of those yesterday!
-greasy food (mcdonald's happy meals do it for me)
-water, water, water
-advil, etc.
-believe it or not the big poo is also a good one, also vomiting/gagging - both activities activiate the Vegus nerve, which lowers your heart rate and in general makes you feel more calm (sorry, medical historian here...)
-try to take a nap if you can - don't fall asleep for a couple of hours, just let yourself nap for 20 minutes or so. |

As awful as it is, yes, McDonald's!
Though any fast food hamburger would work although I've never had a greasy veggie burger.
Big greasy burger
Big order of greasy fries
Pop (not diet! I think it's the sugary sweetness that helps)
Water and more water
Advil
Cool damp washcloths to the face and back of your neck
I stay sitting keep my feet up to keep the dizzies away _________________ I'll be clumsy instead... |

I swear by 2 emergen-c's in water (those little packets of vitamins that fizz and taste like fruit juice). Drink them kind of slowly and then keep sipping water through the morning.
When you're ready for food, something bland and solid is good, like bread, greasy breakfast, or bananas... oh and I love advil, it's the best headache remedy besides the hard stuff.
feel better!

greaaasaaassssssyyyyyyyy food is your friend! get very buttered toast, hashbrowns, anything like that. it soaks up all the nastiness in your stomach. i also like to take vitamin c--either in oj, oranges or a vitamin. i don't know if it scientifically works, but it makes me feel better.
feel better soon! _________________ full effort is full victory. --mahatma gandhi |

| Well, my step-daddy told me to never go to bed after drinking with out taking one asprin, one vit-b and a tall glass of water...seeing that you missed that...I recommend eating with lots of water to wash it down and a couple of asprin and a vitamin afterwards. Basicly drinking dries you out and kills vitamins...you need to restore the balance. Hope you are feeling better today. jen |

Oh my how I love emergen-c. Fun and functional. They should make that stuff in pop rock form. I've heard hangover lore about activated charcoal tablets...but how many or when I'm not sure. Has any one heard of this?
Once I was utterly messed, and one of my friends swore that drinking pickle juice cures a hangover. Needless to say he got a carpet fulla pickle puke and what he deserved for the horrible advice. |
