I think my first project will be a comforter for our soon to be blue bedroom. We can't seem to find just what we want so I was thinking it wouldn't be too hard. If they can do it on Trading Spaces--I'm sure I can do it.

Anybody tried it before? We want to make one with broad blue stripes.

If you make a comforter, it's helpful to have one large width of fabric in the middle, and then the remainder fabric width divided evenly between the 2 sides.

It gives it less of the 'hey look! i sewed it myself from large rectangles from joanne's' look.

If you are wanting one large piece of fabric, buy topsheets in the patterns you like and sew them together. add snap tape or buttons for a closure.
