Right now I would definitely take a flight to Copenhagen, but with tiny thinking I'd prefer some city I haven't visited before. Like.. hum.. Rome. _________________ <3 |

You HAVE to go there during the summer, it's Stockholm at its best..!! Everyone's out in the sun--you can even see the Swedes jumping right into the water by Stadhuset..! And if you know anyone who lives there, definitely spend a few days at a summerhouse out in the archipelago. Summers in Sweden are magical and very unique. |
Oh I was going over this summer but my Swedish friend went home for a week and decided that she'd rather be back in Bristol with the rest of us...so no-one to visit this summer! But I've been in September and at New Year and I totally love it then...maybe next year.
Other than that I miss Oakland _________________ My blog: http://madebymilla.blogspot.com

| I've been dying to see Reykjavik. I recently sent away for tourist info on Iceland and I love looking thru the brochure and dreaming. |

I would definitely like to go to Portland, OR. I have heard it is really beautiful. I would love to wake up to Mountains and huge roses.

| Tokyo; I'd love to see any part of Japan, though. I'd really like to go to Damascus, but won't ever get the chance (is it even still called that?) |

Usually I'm all about the foreign travel, but right now I want to be in Memphis. I've never been there.
Lately I've been so enamored of Southern culture. It seems like a far cry from everything I've grown up with as a born-and-raised Midwest girl. I'm listening to old country and alt-country, reading Southern writers, and drooling over the thought of mint juleps. |

I have been scheming on booking a trip to San Miguel de Allende (Mexico) and am saving up for a deposit. Very artsy destination with access to the mystical local culture and all that comes with it.
I have also been thinking about Amsterdam and Capetown a lot for some reason....it's probably a sign that I should book those trips as well!

Gread topic!
I'm reading Under the Tuscan Sun- I know someone mentioned the movie and if you like the movie, you will LOVE the book though it's very different. The recipes will make your mouth water.
Just read the chapter on Cortona, Italy at lunch. That's where I'd go. My next US dream would be San Francisco to wear flowers in my hair. Never been- sigh.
I DID go to Dublin last year for those who mentioned it. It was definately amazing but Galway was even a bit more enchanting.

So funny that you mentioned that--I just returned a couple of hours ago from a long weekend in Guanajuato, which is about an hour bus ride from San Miguel de Allende. I had never heard of SMA before our trip, but read about it in the guidebook on the way town and my boyfriend and I decided to spend a night and day there but due to a travel delay were not able to make it after all. Anyway, when you do make it to SMA, you should stop in Guanajuato as well. It's very beautiful, and such a cool mountainous relief from the summer. I'm grieving over being back in hot ass Texas! |

Yes ! Tokyo would be so fabulous, I'd by tons and tons of fabric and yummy sushi.
Second choice would be New Zealand. For in states I'd have to say Seattle which I'll be going to in a few weeks so I won't have to wait to long for that. :}
and I'd be into a city swap, it sounds fun.

Montréal. But I don't know why. I just suddenly got this urge to go there...
Before, I would've said Dublin, but I went there in April and while I do want to go back there (and to see the rest of Ireland as well) I'd rather go someplace new and save Dublin for later.
Anyone in Montréal who wants to swap lives with a girl in northern Sweden? :-) |
