I have to say though, I miss the original designers. The news ones just aren't clicking with me and I don't watch the show as faithfully as I used to. All the designers are like rock stars now with their own venutres. I miss Vern! He has a web site though. He looks so busy!

I can't stand most of these type of shows. Really. If they are starting to come up with decent tutorials, that's great. Right now I want to strangle the hosts every time some idiot comes into Jo-ann and says, "How much do I need to make a canopy?" or, "Can you show me how to dye this?" or "Why don't you have someone to help me turn this vase into a lamp?" Duh, that's why it's called Do It Yourself. Of course I know how to do these things, but Jo-ann didn't teach me. And she definitely ain't paying me enough to teach you.

Every show or part of one I've seen has serious problems that they don't address. Like why you don't paint over wet plaster, or why sandblasting paint off of brick is way beyond tedious, or why fake fur does not make a good entry way rug.

I really love helping people with the creative process. But if you don't know what a Phillips screwdriver is or how to find the studs, you shouldn't be building a cornice.

Vern was my favorite designer, I really don't like the people who stuck around. My new favorite designing show is queer eye for the straight guy. I hear there's going to be one for women in LA, I wonder if San Diego counts... :-P

I watch BBC's changing rooms more often now. The pace is faster and the rooms are smaller. It's nice that they have good designs for normal sized rooms instead of the monolithic rooms that are in a lot of the recently built homes. I love Laurence on that show. He's so artistic and fun.

I love Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen too, he's amazing and so incredibly talented. :)

One of my favourite Laurence rooms is the Fresh French Romantic Bedroom, ooh so lovely!

Have you seen his site? -> http://www.llb.co.uk/

Let the candle light procession begin. Our Vern has left the building...

At least he is leaving for something bigger and better!

vern is the best, he can come redecorate my condo any time...although I don't know if 'didn't hang many things on the walls' counts as a project i can't finish :)

Oh boy! I don't have cable so I'm glad I will have a chance to watch Verny on regular television.
