Hey there!

My crafty gang is planning an outing to the City for a crafty shopping spree! There are just about a gazillion knitting shops to pick from, but we need to add some other crafty shops to our list.

Does anyone have any reccomendations? Looking for bead/jewlery making shops, papercrafts, cool fabric stores.....

Thanks a buncher.

posies,
sarah

There is a great bead store on 6th ave in the Garment District. It's around 36th or 37th I think? It's called NY Beads.

And if you are looking for fabric, I suggest checking out the fabric stores on 41st or 40th St between 7th and 8th Aves (in the vicinity of Port Authority). Some of them are quite overwhelming.

There is also a place near Union Square (can't remember the address) called Beads of Paradise that has cool stuff.

Have fun!

Daytona Trim, on the north side of 39th Street between 7th and 8th Avenues, is a feast of, well, trim. There are also scads of fabric stores on that same block.

My favorite bead shop may or may not still be called Big Stone, but it's on the south east corner of either 26th, 27th or 28th Street and B'way.

Pearl Paint is on Canal Street near B'way and they now have a craft store (at least they did a year ago) one block south, I believe on Lispenard.

I just realized that when you know a place by sight it's difficult to give exact directions.

Enjoy the city!
