what a fun thread!

- a personal trainer, food coach and chef to MAKE me lose weight

- a super fantabulous laptop, so i could sit in coffeehouses and write exciting novels

- a production studio to have a crafty chica tv show to feature all the talented people i know

- a new craftymobile, painted purple with a tinny sheen of glitter flecks

- convert our garage into our art studio!

ok, where do we take our list to make these things happen?

i have dreams about that genie showing up at my doorstep everday... what is holding her up anyway?

1) a new mac - fully loaded with all of the bells, whistles and a big red bow.

2) the digital camera i have been eye-balling

3) new living room furniture: couch and big slouchy chair with ottoman

4) a 4 week vacation. 1 week in each of my family's state of residence so i can see everyone and all corners of the us all at once.

5) a new car. and a garage to put in it. can that be all one item?

My wishlist right now....

1) A minivan tricked out with a red glitter paint job (think Dorothy), tinted windows, studded rims, and a big decal of an old style tatoo that says MOTHER in a heart. The inside would be a combination of black leather upholstery and faux leopard print. preferrably a toyota sienna or honda odyssey or anyone with seats that fold into the floor.

2) An ipod

3) laptop with wifi or at least a slimmer desktop model

4) furniture that fits my family room. It's hard to make thrift shop furniture fit in a l o n g n a r r o w room so that people can see the tv, talk, and play with toys.

5) knitting needles and crochet hooks of every size with a homing microchip built in so I'd never loose them again.

Hmmm...
1. A vacation house in the Blue Ridge Mtns (Asheville, NC and environs)
2. A couch and chair that match (for my NY apt - not the vacation house).
3. A digital camera.
4. A piano.
5. A raw space for rehearsing/performing that could double as a crafty studio. Oh yeah, in Manhattan.

Things I'd like:

1) My own swimming pool. Or maybe just to be able to hire out a lane in the pool for an hour each time I swim. I hate that whole getting-hit-by-flailing-arms, water-kicked-in-your-face, trying-to-swim-at-the-same-speed-as-rest-of-lane thing.

2) Knee-high boots, with flat soles, that look like riding boots but are a bit more comfortable.

3) Free sessions with a psychologist! Counselling is so helpful, but so expensive.

4) A new stereo. Like others said, having second hand / charity shop things can get a bit tiring - my stereo is cobbled together from second hand bits and pieces, and keeps dying.

5) Decent fridge. Actually, what I really want is to own my own house/flat instead of renting from evil landlords who refuse to replace a fridge that turns all vegetables to goo - but I'm assuming the genie is on a limited budget.

Ah, it's nice to dream... and, actually, if I get organised about saving a bit, getting some boots might be possible (it's winter & snow here in not so long - I am telling myself this justifies boots).

- An Ashford spinning wheel

- A trip to New Zealand (to go pick up said spinning wheel)

- Really awesome fabric to re-cover my couch, which my cats have destroyed

- Down payment on a farm, at least 10 acres.

- Enough money to live off of for a couple years while I get the farm started

totally impractical and over-the-top!

1. george lucas's place on skywalker ranch (dude! have you seen it? it has a huge library with dark wooden shelves and a dome ceiling with colored glass like in a cathederal and a frickin' spiral staircase! no i've never been, but it's in instyle a few years ago. *drool*)

2. roadtrip! camp out in national parks! take canada highway 1! trek parts of the appalachian mountains! see national monuments! have beignets in new orleans! hang out with the locals! see mount rushmore! hit vermont during foliage season! have pancakes with real maple syrup and butter that tastes like butter! not like the crap they have in the supermarket.

3. a mini cooper with the s and the crazy kit that makes it zoom-zoom. light blue with a white top. (probably not the best car for a roadtrip though). :)

4. a 15" powerbook just like my boy's, and the most frickin' cool laptop case ever (cuz most of the ones out on the market are so fugly!) oh, with full airport access and an external 250gig notebook drive. :)

5. a cello. an older, well-played and well-loved instrument with a rich, darker tone. definitely something like this!

in its own blue hard case with wheels. :)

Still thinking of my five, but I've got a hard case with wheels - it rocks! Though living on the third floor the extra weight does become a burden...

4. a custom made cedar cabinet to fit my yarn corner with lots of drawers for my yarn
5. a big cat scratchy thing shaped like a tree that I saw at a pet store (for my cats not me)
