Take the car for stretches you could walk? Turn up the airco or heat to easily? I'm pretty green, I recycle all what I can, save energy and I don't even have a car, but I'm a sucker for long showers. I try to limit that to once a week but I don't always manage so at least I have the bucket under the shower, but I never know where to place it without having it in my way and still catch enough water :(

Travelling. Not much in the last few years, but I've done my share of long flights and there are so many places I want to visit...
Also, I'm always cold so I try to turn up the heat in winter...luckily for the environment (but not for me - I can wear two pairs of socks and a cardigan and wristwarmers and still be cold) I can't adjust the temperature in my apartment other than turning the radiators off completely (which I obviously don't want to do). _________________ The 50 Project Year |

I avoid Starbucks and go to local coffee stores. But damn those frappuccinos in the grocery store make me weak! When they're on sale I can't resist buying some. _________________ Craft Revolution-one purl at a time.

Oh, that's a good one. I'm usually a shining example buying only season's vegetables, but mainly dictated by budget because they're usually the cheapest. But.... if the tomatoes from far away are cheaper than the local produce, I will buy those. Bad, bad, bad, don't I know about the transportation's effect on the environment? If I could afford it I'd buy only organic from local farmers, I swear! _________________ My Etsy Shop with crocheted tea cosies and much more: http://www.LeChatCrochet.etsy.com

| nothing is WRONG with it I guess... but its more well-traveled than I am. I've always avoided 'fancy' water in plastic bottles (ex: Fiji), but allowed myself to drink San Pellegrino because it's 1) mineral water and 2) in glass. Silly reasons, I know. But I got to thinking: Is it really necessary to drink water thats been shipped from Milan? In this age of carbon foot prints, CSAs, and sky rocketing fuel prices, should I really be drinking water that needs to cross oceans and continents to get to me? No. Especially when Saratoga Spring Water (the blue bottle) is so readily available. It's domestic (made in NY!) and delicious... great as a special treat. |
